This little four page reprint pamphlet was printed by the Zeiss Opton Co and thus represents official Zeiss History. It is a reprint of an article printed in the October 1951 issue of Reader's Digest which coincides with the announcement of the New Contax IIa camera. Based upon an interview with the Zeiss pre and postwar Production Supervisor Dr. Heinz Kuppenbender; it concisely covers the largely unknown postwar period from the surrender of Germany to the Allies up to the formation of the Zeiss Opton Company.
